Your Placement
Traditionally Concordia organises placements in agricultural and farm work across the UK. However, we are beginning to introduce some other types of work and expanding the range of employers that we work with.
If you are not a student and you would still like to come on a placement
with Concordia this may be possible. However, the majority of our applicants
are students and this is why most of the website refers to the workers

Farm Placements
Since the second world war Concordia has arranged farm placements for
a range of applicants across the world. We place participants on a variety
of fruit, vegetable, plant and hops farms across the United Kingdom.
Applicants work in a number of different settings from planting flowers
to sorting and packaging potatoes, from erecting greenhouses to driving
tractors.
Our farm placements offer a fantastic opportunity to improve on agricultural
skills or to learn new skills from afresh. We work particularly with
agricultural students around the world, offering work placements that
coincide with university courses. You will be give the chance to improve
on your English speaking, earn money and visit interesting places in
the UK.
Farms and holdings vary greatly in size, and therefore in the labour required. The largest may take 100 or more participants, while others will need only two or four.
Most Concordia farms are heavily reliant upon their seasonal labour and consequently make the effort to organise trips and sometimes even entertainment in the evening! Many of the participants on our farms manage to have a fantastic time. They enjoy the hard work and make lots of friends from different countries around the world.IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR BULGARIAN APPLICANTS

Concordia has placements on farms in the UK starting between now and mid-June. If this is of interest to you and you have working rights in the UK, then please e-mail students@concordia-
ysv.org.uk with your name, date of birth, contact details and the dates you are available.
We regret that if you are a Romanian or Bulgarian national, all our SAWS work cards for 2008 have been allocated and we will not be able to offer you a placement.
