If you are applying with friends who wish to be placed together, you must apply together giving the names of all applicants. Concordia does not guarantee that a place will be made available, but agrees to consider your application for that placement if you apply within the specified period.

Any application must give the dates the applicant is available, and any placement offered will be matched as closely as possible to those dates. You must not accept a placement where you are unable to stay for the entire period. If you leave before the end date you will not be accepted onto a Concordia farm again.

The Concordia charge for membership is £76 per annum.

Concordia sends participant documentation by international courier. We ask participants applying individually who have documents sent to include an additional courier fee of £30 with their application.

Any participants coming to work must have a suitable travel insurance policy. Concordia membership includes a travel insurance policy for a period of one year. If this is not to be taken participants must send a copy of their own valid insurance policy with their application. Details of the Concordia insurance (arranged through NFU are available here).

If you apply through an agent, they may make additional charges for services such as translation etc. However, these should not be excessive. If you are asked to pay significant fees to an agent, please advise Concordia via the contact us page.

Conditions such as Aids, HIV, Back Pain, Hepatitis, colour blindness, obesity and allergies may prevent Concordia from placing participants on certain farms. This will be because a participant is unable to do the work, the conditions on the farm prevent a participant from doing the work, or for health and safety reasons. Where this is the case we will try to find an alternative placement, however, there may be occasions where an application is rejected because a suitable placement is not available.

By accepting the placement, you have agreed to remain at the farm booked for the entire period. If the placement is cancelled, Concordia will try to offer you an alternative, but cannot guarantee that the dates, type of work or farm location will be similar. If you do not wish to be placed on another farm, please mark your application accordingly.

Once you are placed on a farm, you must remain there. In addition, if you leave before the placement end date and you have taken out Concordia insurance this will become invalid.

SAWs participants are not permitted to work other than on a Concordia farm, and must return home at the end of their work period. If you try to find alternative employment or do not return home at the end of the placement, Concordia will advise the Home Office and your family that you have remained in the UK illegally and you are likely to be deported if located.

If the work on the farm stops before the booked end date, either due to crop failure or poor weather, Concordia will try to offer you an alternative placement. However this cannot be guaranteed.

If you are an EU (excluding Bulgaria and Romania) participant and your work period ends and you would like to apply for further work, this can be considered. This service is free for members. A fee of £32.50 is payable for non members. You must note that any move to another farm must be at Concordia's request, and any participants who arrange their own transfer are likely to be marked up as unsuitable to return on the Concordia programme.

If you need to cancel you should do this as soon as possible as refunds can not be given once your application has been processed.
